Like Botox, Dysport is an injectable botulinum toxin type A protein used to treat the appearance of “11 lines”, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for fine lines and wrinkles. Although Botox and Dysport are essentially the same product, subtle differences have been reported.

Botox vs. Dysport

Manufactured by different companies, Botox was approved for cosmetic use by the FDA in 2002 while Dysport was introduced to the market later and FDA approved in 2009. Although Botox is the better known brand, Dysport has been reported to work within 1 to 2 days versus 3 to 5 days reported with Botox. Even more, Dysport may last a little longer than Botox.

Resistant to Botox?

Although extremely rare, some patients have exhibited a “resistance” to Botox . Dysport may be an effective alternative for patients whose wrinkles and fine lines seem unresponsive to Botox.

If you are looking for a non-surgical treatment to reduce fine lines, crow’s feet or forehead furrows and are between 18 and 65 years of age, you may be a candidate for Dysport. To schedule a complimentary consultation, call 423-648-4011. If you have never tried Dysport, we are currently offering it at 50 percent off usual price while supplies last and if booked before 12-31-2012.
